GAMES #1 (active research lab)
Performance & Art Development Agency (PADA) is a new contemporary arts organisation in South Australia, founded by Emma Webb and Steve Mayhew in 2015. PADA is developing new artworks, initiatives, networks and public programs with multidisciplinary artists locally and across Australia.
PADA aims to work in partnership with artists and like-minded organisations to contribute to the contemporary arts culture and ecology in South Australia. Our programs are developmental, experimental, politically-engaged and nimble.
In 2018 PADA will take another left turn and hold a series of occasional Active Research Labs.
Based on themes such as gaming, participation and interactivity we will look at dramaturgical and structural forms, ethics, political, personal and social implications of such activity.
The labs are designed to create a discourse around an Australian contemporary arts practice, the language we use, how we are doing it, how might we do it in the future and how this relates to the rest of the world.
The labs sessions will be audio recorded to be turned into future, publicly available, subscription based podcasts (more details to follow).
Here are our past projects. Explorations in curation, commissioning and re-presentation.
